Do You Know Your Skin Type ?

How to check your skin type

Did you know that your skin changes over time?  External factors such as weather, environment and even your state of mind can affect your skin's vitality.

To check your current skin type, cleanse your face and do not apply any moisturisers or creams.  After 20 minutes, check to see which of the following characteristics best reflect your skin.

Signs of ageing
- Visible lines, increased dryness, reduced elasticity.

Normal skin
- Barely visible pores, rarely blemished, occasional dryness.

Dry skin
- No visible pores, feels tight after cleansing, matte finish.

Oily & combination skin
- Visible / enlarged pores, sheen to skin, shiny T-zone

Blemish prone skin
- Blackheads and blemishes, visible open pores, red and inflamed.

Sensitive skin
- Quick to react, affected by stress, itchy / flakey / red

Youthful skin
- No Visible fine lines, good elasticity, temporary loss of radiance.

Wild Rose Beauty Balm Award Winning Product

Product Review, Wild Rose Beauty Balm 'A Spa in a Jar'

Winner Natural Health Magazine Beauty Awards 2009
Suitable for all skin types

This has to be the most versatile skincare product in the range. The key ingredient being organic wild rosehip oil - this is a fantastic natural source of skin nourishing antioxidants, vitamins and essential fatty acids. Proven to help repair, firm and smooth the skin. An award winning product, having won an awards from The Green Beauty Bible and The Natural Health Magazine Beauty Award.

Wild Rose Beauty Balm is comparable to Elizabeth Arden' s highly successful Eight Hour Cream. The consistency is not the same, as this is a balm and not a thick liquid, it does smell a lot nicer than than Eight Hour Cream, and has more uses. A little goes a long way, so although it is £35.25 for 50g, it will last you for a long time.

It can be used as a cleanser, moisten the skin with warm water, gently massage on the balm and rinse off with warm water. My skin felt very hydrated and smooth, as you massage onto the skin, cup your hands and take a deep breath and enjoy the gorgeous aromas.

The Wild Rose Beauty Balm comes with a muslin cloth, which can bee used to exfoliate dead skin cells. As above, gently massage the balm onto moistened skin, the wipe away with the muslin cloth in a circular motion.

Wild Rose Beauty Balm can also be used to nourish the skin, especially dry areas, knees & elbows. It makes an excellent lip balm and is great for the cuticles. If you smooth it generously over your face before you go to bed, you will wake up looking refreshed, with a glowing completion.

As well as rosehip oils, the other ingredients are, geranium, star flower, hemp and rosemary seed oil, which help to decongest and enrich the skin.

If I could only choose one product from The Neal's Yard Remedies Organic range, this would have to be the the one.
